Release Event: Loved By You (Laurel Heights #10) by Kate Perry #Giveaway

It’s time for Karma Taylor to ante up. When her mom raises the stakes, KT has no choice but to prove that she’s living up to her potential. To her mom, that means performing in the upcoming concert, but KT would rather run naked through Golden Gate Park than expose herself on stage. Chance Nolan, world traveler and all-around gypsy, offers KT a solution: distract her mom by faking an engagement—to him. KT would be doing him a favor, too, so he can shake the overzealous blonde who won’t take no for an answer. Only pretending to be in a relationship feels very real, and Chance wonders if he hasn’t been searching for KT all along. He just has to convince her he’s so much more than a decoy fiancĂ©.

Book Review: All of You by Christina Lee

It is not often you find a book where the guy is the virgin and the girl is the player, and I have to say it is a very refreshing change!

Avery Michaels does not do boyfriends or relationships. She much prefers a one night stand or calling her "buddy" Rob for a quickie. When she spots a gorgeous guy at a frat party, she sets in for the kill. But for once, the guy doesn't take the bait. Bennett Reynolds knows a mean eater when he sees one and Avery is most definitely one. So he flat out ignores her advances. He is a virgin not because he is waiting for marriage, just waiting for love.

Imagine both their surprise when they find out the next day that they live in the same apartment building. Despite their differences, they are still drawn to each other and their chemistry is palpable. A scary night had Avery leaning on Bennett for comfort and she struggles with that since she makes a point to never need anyone. Though they try to fight it for a while, inevitably they want to spend more time together.

Make no mistake, just because Bennett is a virgin doesn't mean there isn't any hotness in this book. He happens to have a very skilled mouth and fingers. The sexual tension between them is crazy hot and it makes their eventual coming together that much better. I really enjoyed the role reversal in this book and loved the sweet guy who knows that he wants to wait for someone special. And while Avery certainly has her issues to work through, I loved that she was respectful of Bennett's choice and never tried to pressure him. I highly recommend this read!

Blog Tour: Fueled (Driven #2) by K. Bromberg #Giveaway

What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?

Colton stole my heart. He wasn't supposed to, and I sure as hell didn't want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.

Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don't think I'll ever be the same. She's seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she's still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.

How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?

He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won't let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.

Book Review: Reckless (Renegades #1) by Skye Jordan

One sure fire way to get me to read a book is to put a half naked tattooed guy on the front. Yup, that sucks me right in! Jax Chamberlin is a former actor turned stuntman. He is tired of women using him for his Hollywood connections to further their careers. Lexi LaCroix, model and dress designer, does not just want to be a piece of arm candy to the guy she is dating. So both of them are wary of getting involved with someone right now. Some anonymous text flirting while waiting to board their flight from L.A. to New York leads to one night of anonymous passion. But will one night be enough for either of them?

Reckless is written in my favorite style of alternating first person point of views from the hero and heroine. This gives the reader a chance to connect with both characters. Jax realizes pretty early on that he wants more from Lexi and while he may deny himself for a little bit, he ultimately tells her. I loved that he was honest about his feelings. Lexi on the other hand, is way more stubborn. She is too busy letting image control what she does and she is afraid that Jax's bad boy look will hurt her business. Besides that one flaw, I did like Lexi a lot. Especially when she let her sexy side free.

Jax is my typical book boyfriend: bad boy, cut body, tattoos - everything that makes my mouth water. And to be honest, I find the name Jax to be pretty damn sexy all on its own. Combine that with this blatant sex appeal and... wow, you get some super steamy scenes!

Book Review: Fueled (Driven #2) by K. Bromberg

Holy intense, emotional prologue! At the end of Driven, we still didn't know what happened to Colton as a child to mess with him so badly. Well that was immediately answered with a whammy of a prologue and I wasn't expecting the book to start like that! I was so hurt for Rylee and the things Colton said to her when Driven ended. And oh so mad at him for doing it. Now that I know about his past, I feel awful for him. It doesn't excuse his behavior, but it explains it.

Book Review: Driven (The Driven Trilogy #1) by K. Bromberg

Where the heck do I begin? There has been a ton of book bloggers talking about Fuelednand The Driven Trilogy lately and the hot hero Colton. I admit, all the chatter intrigued me and I immediately added the books to my TBR. Then last wee I won an eBook of Fueled so I figured it was time for me to get down and dirty with Colton.

Rylee likes her life orderly and predictable. Ever since a tragedy altered her life two years ago, she needs to be in control. But she also needs to learn how to finally move on. She spends most of her time working with and caring for children who no longer have family and homes. Then a chance and panty melting encounter with a sexy stranger throws her world of its axis.

It is really no surprise that Colton doesn't do relationships. He prefers having formal yet temporary "arrangements" with woman he is involved which allows him to  move on after a few months. Rylee doesn't toll that way. She wants more. She deserves more. Even though they both know that she will only get hurt at the end of this, the electricity between them is too strong for them to walk away. Can she try to do things his way? Can he try to give her a little more?

After reading this in a day, I can finally say I know what all the fuss is about. Colton is damn scorching! He's dominant and cocky and that totally works for me.

Book Review: Afterburn by Sylvia Day

We all know and love Sylvia Day's Crossfire Series and Afterburn is another hot read by this author! Gianna Rossi thought she had moved on from the heartbreak that Jackson Rutledge caused her a year ago when he walked away without a word. She has built a successful career for herslef and things are going well. That is until Jackson shows up for a business meeting she is in with her boss and she realizes that she is still in love with him. The chemistry between them is just as hot as ever, but this time around Gia is determined to do things on her terms. Maybe now she can try to figure out why he left her in the first place. And is it possible that he is actually in love with her as well?

This is the first book in a two book series from Cosmo Red-Hot Reads. There is one thing about Gianna that I did not like and that was how she goes to great lengths, i.e. suppressing her Brooklyn accent, to hide who she truly is. Her insecurities lead her to believe that Jax left her because she wasn't polished enough for him and his high society, political family. But is that why he left? Who the heck knows! Jax is a complete mystery to me and I can't figure him out. I mean yeah he is sexy as hell and he just has this presence about him, but he's so good at closing off what is beneath the surface. While we start to see that maybe he does have true feelings for Gia, we are not really any closer to finding out why he bolted in the first place. Or why he still doesn't think they can have something permanent. Gianna is determined to find out what is going on with him and frankly so am I. This is what made me really like her a lot. Now that she is back face to face with him and starts seeing some of the feelings he has been hiding for so long, she is going to dig deeper and push harder.

This book was fast, steamy and intriguing and I am looking forward to book two, Aftershock, and unraveling the mystery that is Jax. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because I wish it was one longer book instead of two super short ones.

My Rating:

Title: Afterburn
Author: Sylvia Day
Series: Afterburn & Aftershock #1

Book Description:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day, America’s premier author of provocative fiction, delivers the debut novel from Cosmo Red-Hot Reads from Harlequin.

The realization that Jax still affected me so strongly was a jagged pill to swallow. He’d only been part of my life for five short weeks two years ago. But now he was back. Walking into a deal I’d worked hard to close. And God, he was magnificent. His eyes were a brown so dark they were nearly black. Thickly lashed, they were relentless in their intensity. Had I really thought they were soft and warm? There was nothing soft about Jackson Rutledge. He was a hard and jaded man, cut from a ruthless cloth.

In that moment I understood how badly I wanted to unravel the mystery of Jax. Bad enough that I didn’t mind how much it was going to cost me...

Book Review: Thursday Nights (Charistown #1) by Lisa N. Paul

Every now and then a freebie on Amazon can be a real gem and help you discover a great author. This is how I found C.D. Reiss and her Songs of Submission series. Back in August, Thursday Nights popped up as free and I quickly snatched it up. I finally got around to reading it this past weekend and I was not disappointed.

Janie and Lyla both have troubled family pasts, but they have found a new family in Charistown, PA. The crew at Danny's on Main bar are the loving family that both girls never had. Every Thursday night the two girls head to the bar to hand out with their new friends. Max has enjoyed getting to know Janie over the past 6 months while bartending at Danny's. But no matter how much he wants her, he doesn't do relationships anymore. His former witch of a wife took care of that for him.

Will an incredible night of "sex with friends" ruin Janie's and Max's friendship? Or can Janie break down the walls that Max has built around his heart? This book is fun and sexy and I loved all of the supporting characters not just Janie and Max. There is a crazy amount of angst as we watch Max struggle with his feelings. Why does the guy always hurt the girl before he realizes what he had? Men are so frustrating. I enjoyed their journey and I am looking forward to more books in this series. The title of book 2 is Storm Front, though there are no other details available yet. I'm really hoping this will be Lyla's and Sebastian's story.

Book Review: Revealing Us (Inside Out #3) by Lisa Renee Jones

It really goes without saying that I liked this book. After all, it is written by Lisa Renee Jones and I am a total fangirl. However I was a little bit sad as I started Revealing Us knowing that Sara's and Chris's story would be coming to an end. Or is it...

Revealing Us picks up where Being Me left off. After Sara is attacked and everyone finds out what happened to Rebecca, Chris and Sara set out to Paris. They need to confront his past, which he fears will drive Sara away, and to find her missing friend Ella. And when we are talking about Chris's past, you know some of that is going to consist of past women. Jealous, jaded and still pining over Chris after all of these years women. I really felt for Sara as she tried to deal with a certain woman and her crap. She handled herself well although she was way too nice at some points.

Chris is still his usual quiet, intense self. And yes, it is still sexy as hell. You can see that he really is trying to make an effort to open up more to Sara and there is no doubt that he loves her. He can be sweet and tender when warranted but than can go right to dominant in a heartbeat and pushes Sara's to new limits. Delicious new limits.

Teaser: A Beautiful Mess by T.K. Leigh

Here is a teeny tiny teaser from A Beautiful Mess by T.K. Leigh, the first book in her romantic suspense trilogy.  This was a fantastic debut novel for T.K. and it had everything a girl could ask for: mystery and suspense plus a hot alpha guy and hot sex - definitely a winner for me! Be sure to check out my full 4-star review of A Beautiful Mess!

Blog Tour: Stripped by H.M. Ward & Kindle Fire #Giveaway

The V Card. Virgin. Most of us want to punch that sucker ASAP, and hide the fact until then, but not Cassie Hale. Three years ago she frickin' covered hers in glitter and laminated the thing, proudly telling me that she's waiting for the perfect guy.

So when I see her half naked, tangled together, rolling around on the floor with another stripper, I'm kind of shocked. Okay, that's an understatement. I'm enthralled. I have to know what cracked her picture perfect world and landed her here, and I hope it's something horrible-an event that broke her the way she broke me. Because, that's who Cassie Hale is--the woman who stole my heart and crushed it in her hand.
