In Volume One, Marcus was the monster. He used Katia for his own personal gain and while he may have done some things out of love, it didn't matter. In Volume Two, Katia becomes the monster. An emotionless, empty monster. We see a bit of how Marcus struggled after they split, and struggled is an understatement, yet I couldn't bring myself to sympathize with the jerk. Everything that happened was his own doing and he completely broke Katia. He is responsible for what she has become. Can they repair what might have been love or are they better off cutting ties and finally moving on?I made the mistake of starting this at midnight the other night and there was absolutely no way I was putting it down once I started. There is a lot going on and a bunch of really angry (and hot) sex and it kept me hooked for two hours while I sat in the most uncomfortable position on my floor. I couldn't even pause to drag my ass to the couch, I was that engulfed. How it ended was expected, but it was the ride to get there that gripped me. It may seem like I hate Marcus, and part of me does, but I also like him, not only for the hot angry sex, but for what he ultimately does.
This two part series was my first venture into Bella Jewel land and I definitely want to read more from her. One of these days i will have to tackles some of her MC books, especially since a bunch of those characters make small cameos in this series.
