Release Blitz: After Dark (Night Owl #3) by M. Pierce

Book Review: Coda (Songs of Submission #9) by CD Reiss

Jonathan and Monica have been to hell and back in recent months. Life might be moving on but the strain is making them drift apart. This final book in the Songs of Submission series (a.k.a. the best series ever) is about a husband and wife finding their way back to one another and who they are.

This one was all about the feels. Oh so many bone deep feels. The previous book, Sing, ripped my heart out and then tap danced all over it. While it might have been put back in place by the end, like these two beautiful characters it wasn't fully healed. So for me, Coda was not only about Jonathan and Monica healing, but me as well. And it was not an easy process. Sure there is some beautifully punishing Jonathan sex involved, but like I said... the feels.

I cried. A lot. Again. There is more pain, there are huge fears to overcome, but despite the hurt it was a wonderful journey. Sad doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about the series being officially over. No one has captured me like these characters have and I don't think anyone else ever will.

Book Review Night Shift Anthology #LoveIsLove

I was super excited about this anthology because of the kick ass lineup of authors in it. I've enjoyed books from 5 out of 6 of them. Eden Butler is the one who is new to me and I'm glad I got a chance to read something from her, more on that later. I loved the idea that while all stories are separate from each other, they all take place in New Orleans and more specifically each have a connection to Tulane Medical Center in NOLA. Overall I enjoyed this anthology and it was a quick weekend read. Scroll down for comments and ratings on each individual story.

Marianna's Overall Rating:

**I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Own Fifty Shades of Grey, The Unrated Edition with Alternate Ending on Digital HD & Blu-ray #OfficialFifty #FiftyShades

Fifty Shades of Grey Unrated Edition with Alternate Ending will be available to own on Digital HD Friday, May 1 & Blu-ray Friday, May 8.

Yes! We finally have an official release date for Fifty Shades of Grey and it isn't that far away! Squee! Not only is is less than two months until the release, but it will be an Unrated Edition with an alternate ending. Since the movie followed the ending of the book, I am very curious as to how the alternate ending will play out. And does unrated mean more Jamie Dornan nakedness? This girl sure hopes so!

Book Review: Shaken, Not Stirred (Last Call #5) by Sawyer Bennett

Casey Markham is a well known man eater. She devours them for a few nights of fun, then spits them out before they can get attached to her. Tenn Jennings is traveling through town on the way to visit his daughter and he is immediately drawn to the beautiful Casey. He quickly realizes that he wants more than one night, but one night is all that Casey is willing to give. Can she move beyond her past and her fears to go after something meaningful?

Since this series started last year with On the Rocks, I've been dying for Casey's story. You just knew there was a broken girl underneath that tough exterior and I wanted to know what her deal was. She has let young love heartache shape all of her relationships with men and it was more than a little frustrating at times. I'll admit at times I wanted to yell at her to get over it already, but when you pair what happened with her love life with what happened to her brother around the same time, I can kind of get it.

Book Review: Sawyer (Alluring Indulgence #7) by Nicole Edwards

Sawyer is known as the easy going, fun loving Walker brother. He has a reputation with the ladies but for the past few years he's had his eyes on Kennedy. He hasn't been able to get through her walls but now he's done waiting and is turning it up a notch. Or maybe ten. Kennedy has done her best to ignore Sawyer's advances but she'd be lying if you said he wasn't wearing her down. But can she finally forgive him for the cruel way he treated her in high school? Has he really changed?

Nicole Edwards is the queen of menage, so sometimes I forget she can write the hell out of some good old M/F too. I loved how relentless Sawyer was in his pursuit of Kennedy. And when he finally got her? Gah! So hot! Kennedy was a bit warm and cold for me. I liked her but she made some choices that annoyed me. Her and Sawyer are great together though and I loved how this prim and proper vet turned into a real wild cat in the bedroom.

There is only one Walker brothers story left now and I have to say I'm a little wary of him.  His behavior in this and the last few books has him coming off a bit douchey, though I know he's just struggling through some stuff. It will be interesting to see how his story plays out and I'll be very sad to see the series come to an end.

Book Review: Professor Cline Revealed (The Professor #1) by J.M. La Rocca

Professor Mason line doesn't do relationships. He uses woman for sex and nothing more. No dating, no emotions, just ruthless, mind blowing release. Law student Emma Blake needs to focus on her studies and stay away from men, but that's kind of hard when you're professor is drop dead gorgeous. Is she up for having some fun with Mason or should she steer clear for him.

The best word to describe how this book made me feel is desperate. Desperate for more hot sexy times (and they were hot) with Mason. Desperate for more information about him, his past, and what made him the way he is now. Clearly he has some issues, he can be a total prick and keeps sending Emma mixed signals, but you there is just so much pain there and I can't hate him for any of it. The author did an excellent job of conveying that and I swear I could feel every ounce of his pain in my own body. I wanted to climb into the book and take it all away for him. Emma is a bit of a pushover at the start but I have a feeling we are going to see her grow a lot by the time the series is over.

Release Blitz: Complete Submission by CD Reiss

If you have followed this blog for the past two years, you know how much I love the Songs of Submission series by CD Reiss. The writing is powerful and hypnotic and it was the first series of books to have me binge reading into all hours of the night. When I first discovered it, books 1 though 5 had been released and I sat on my couch for hours, devouring them all one after the other. I didn't move until I was done and waiting for each subsequent book was damn near torture. This is hands down my favorite series of all time and if you haven't had the pleasure of reading Jonathan Drazen yet, you need to grab the complete series right now for this ridiculously low price of 99¢ before it is gone.

Book Review: Very Twisted Things (Briarcrest Academy #3) by Ilsa Madden-Mills

I don't know about everyone else but I have been waiting for Sebastian's story from the moment he was introduced to us in Very Bad Things. I loved his cockiness and humor and was looking forward to finally getting his story. One thing I know I am always going to get with Ilsa's stories is emotion. Pure, raw emotion and yeah this book sure delivered that. From the heart wrenching prologue to Sebastian and Violet dancing around their feelings, my heart was 100% involved.

For as much as I love Sebastian, I also wanted to punch him for his stupid boy mistakes. At times I expected better of him but I held onto hope that he would eventually figure it out. Violet was absolutely awesome in all her junk food eating, potty mouthed glory. She is damaged for sure, but stronger then even she realizes. I understood why she hid away in her mansion, hell I would have done the same thing. But what was beautiful to me was watching her ever so slowly come out of her shell. She may still have a long way to go, but the start of it was huge.

As is customary when reading this author, I cried (a lot) and laughed and I was completely swept away by the characters and the emotions seeping out of them. It is like they flow directly from the pages into my skin and I don't want to let them go when it is done. This series continues to be a must-read for me and I hope we have more from this author soon.

Book Review: One Night: Unveiled (One Night #3) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Book 3 picks up where the last book left off with Miller and Olivia having fled London to get a break from the crazy. While being immersed in just each other with no interferes is lovely, the bliss is cut short when they suddenly need to return home. They both knew there would be a ton of crap to deal with upon their return, but neither expected how it would all continue to snowball and new bigger issues would be thrown at them. Can their love survive it all?

Whew. What a ride this final book was. It was really non-stop from start to finish with little time to catch your breath along the way. Smokin' hot sex? Check. Drama galore? Check. A new surprise around every corner? Check. Plenty of Miller's "thing?" Sigh. Definitely check. I love this series and this final installment really kept me on my toes. Some things really caught me off guard and i enjoyed puzzling it all together. While Jesse Ward is still one of my top book boyfriends, I loved Miller and all of his crazy. I can't wait to see what JEM has for us next!
