Book Review: 21 Stolen Kisses by Lauren Blakely #Giveaway

Eight years separate Kennedy and Noah. It doesn't seem like all that much really, except that she is only seventeen. And he is her mother's agent and best friend. So yeah, kind of a big deal and it means everything about their relationship is forbidden. They've tried to stay away from each other, but it is impossible. With Kennedy's eighteenth birthday getting closer, they hold onto hope that their relationship will work. But how could it?

We all know that Lauren Blakely gives us fabulous and super steamy erotic romance, so sometimes I forget that she can also write the hell out of emotional new adult romance as well. This is not erotic in any way, though their is plenty of sexual tension. This book was very sweet but also heart wrenching and just a great read. I loved both of these characters, especially Noah. It is so  refreshing to read about a sweet guy that  makes you swoon for a change. He was wonderful to Kennedy and had no problem expressing his love for her. Mot importantly I think was his patience.

Book Review: Afraid to Fly (Fearless #2) by S.L. Jennings

Dominic uses women to help push back the memories of his abused childhood. A past he relives every night when he closes his eyes. The countless women help, but only momentarily, and it isn't long before the darkness invades again. Raven is the sole caretaker of her brother and is working her ass off to keep them going. And for some reason, she hates Dom. Despite her animosity towards him, Dom is drawn to Raven and he just can't stay away. Even though he knows he should, for both their sakes.

Dear God, S.L. Jennings knows how to write a story that completely captures your heart from the first word and holds you in a vise grip until the very end. Despite Dom's manwhorish ways, it is impossible not to love the man. He is just a good caring guy. He's not cold or callous to the women he is with, but it is painful watching him go from one girl to the next. He puts his heart and soul into helping other at risk kids and I admire the hell out of him for that.

Raven was a bit more vexing for me. Overall I liked her, mostly, but the unknown hate she held for Dom pissed me off. Just get over yourself already or spit out what the hell the problem is. And then when we do find out, I kind of wanted to punch her. But together, Dom and Raven are good for each other and I wanted to see them both push past their demons and find some happy. This was a heart wrenching and emotional read that enjoyed from start to finish.

Book Review: Shuttergirl by CD Reiss

In high school they had an undeniable connection, drawn together like magnets. Until one day he left and took it away. Years later, it is still there, throbbing and building between them. Maybe now they have a second chance. A do over. But can that really happen when they live and work on opposite ends of a camera?

I always get a little nervous when an author I adore does something outside of their norm. Though when it comes to CD Reiss, I knew I had nothing to worry about. Yes this is her first venture into a softer contemporary romance. Yes it is completely different than anything I've read by her previously. And yes, it was without a doubt exceptional. Beyond exceptional. No one writes like CD Reiss does.

NO. ONE.

Book Review: Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons MC #1) by Chantal Fernando

Faye walks in on her boyfriend with another woman and suddenly, her carefully laid out plans for the future go up in smoke. Deciding to go out for a night of fun, she runs into the boy she's had a crush on for years. Except he isn't a boy anymore. No, he is very much all man and even hotter than she remembered. He also happens to be her ex's older brother. But does any of that even matter when all either of them wants is just one night? Except one night turns into more than they anticipated and now she is thrust into Dex's motorcycle club world.

This is my first read by Chantal Fernando and  only the second MC series I have started and I am wondering why I waited so long on both accounts. As far as MC stories go, I'd say this is on the lighter side when it comes to the violence level. And that is perfectly fine for me, I prefer them to be mild like that. In fact, that is probably why I have only read a handful of books in this genre and so I am glad I decided to go with this one next.

There is plenty of drama, a little bloodshed and some nice sexy times. Very, very nice. I was sucked in from the get go and enjoyed no only Dex's alpha ways but also meeting the other members of the Wind Dragons MC. I can't wait for them all to get their own books.

Book Review: Yield (Legal Affairs: Cal & Macy #3) by Sawyer Bennett #Giveaway

So after the super colossal cliffy in Grind, Yield picks up right where we left off. Things had been going well for Cal and Macy, but this recent development has Macy pulling back. Can Cal convince her that he will stay by her side, no matter what is going down?

In this third and final installment of Cal and Macy's story, things get pretty intense. While these two continue to burn up the sheets, there is so much more going on. Will Macy finally tell Cal her secrets? Will she seek justice for those that have wronged her? Will she revert to her old ways? WHAT WILL SHE DO? Gah! I feel like I was constantly holding my breath, waiting to see what would happen next.

And you know that secret that has been eluded too but we haven't been made privy to yet? I knew it would be painful but I didn't think it would gut me so. And infuriate me. I thought I had it figured out, but the added twist had me wanting to commit murder. Of course through it all, Cal was amazing. He was so patient with Macy when she needed it and I just love him. I flippin loved this series so hard and this was the perfect ending for Cal and Macy. Now who's next?
