Chad doesn't trust anyone, and given his past, you really can't blame him. Now he is in a race to get to his sister before the evil he is responsible for gets to her first. Enter Gia. She helps him escape but why? What are her true motives? Chad doesn't want to trust her; he can't afford to. But he is given little choice if he wants to save his sister and get the revenge his soul craves.I have to say that Ms. Jones did a fabulous job of keeping me guessing at who was on Chad's side and who could be betraying him. Had he been trusting the wrong people all these years or was the newcomer to blame? I had my suspicions but they kind of wavered back and forth for most of the book. It was clear Gia wasn't telling him the whole truth and I was dying to find out what all of her story was.
