Book Review: Binding Ecstasy (Guardians of the Realms #6) by Setta Jay

One by one, Bastian has watched his brother Guardians find their mates. It warns of bigger things to come within the Realms but he also can't help but wonder if he might be next. While it isn't something he had ever hoped to find, now that the possibility is there he can't help but to be filled with anticipation. Natasha and her twin Nastia were Apollo's secret weapons. After finally escaping him, they have been waiting centuries to get their revenge on the God who experimented on them and held them captive. She in no way expected Bastian or the frenzy that took over her body when they meet. She doesn't understand any of this talk about mates and her brain doesn't trust him but her body has a mind of its own. While these two are discovering each other, what new threats will come upon the Realms?

I know I say it after I read every one of Setta Jay's book but OH MY GOD I love this series! And this book was every bit as good as the others. I. Loved. It. From the first page I'm transported to a fantasy world and I never (ever) want to leave. Once again, the author has created a powerful story filled with action, suspense and lots of steamy sex. These Guardians can be down right filthy at times and it is delicious.

I liked Bastian a whole hell of a lot. In addition to his alpha warrior side, he also has a sweeter side that makes you melt and makes him irresistible. Natasha is another strong, independent female lead who has no problem keeping up with her Guardian or putting him in his place when needed. They were perfect together.

Book Review: 21 Stolen Kisses by Lauren Blakely #Giveaway

Eight years separate Kennedy and Noah. It doesn't seem like all that much really, except that she is only seventeen. And he is her mother's agent and best friend. So yeah, kind of a big deal and it means everything about their relationship is forbidden. They've tried to stay away from each other, but it is impossible. With Kennedy's eighteenth birthday getting closer, they hold onto hope that their relationship will work. But how could it?

We all know that Lauren Blakely gives us fabulous and super steamy erotic romance, so sometimes I forget that she can also write the hell out of emotional new adult romance as well. This is not erotic in any way, though their is plenty of sexual tension. This book was very sweet but also heart wrenching and just a great read. I loved both of these characters, especially Noah. It is so  refreshing to read about a sweet guy that  makes you swoon for a change. He was wonderful to Kennedy and had no problem expressing his love for her. Mot importantly I think was his patience.

Book Review: Afraid to Fly (Fearless #2) by S.L. Jennings

Dominic uses women to help push back the memories of his abused childhood. A past he relives every night when he closes his eyes. The countless women help, but only momentarily, and it isn't long before the darkness invades again. Raven is the sole caretaker of her brother and is working her ass off to keep them going. And for some reason, she hates Dom. Despite her animosity towards him, Dom is drawn to Raven and he just can't stay away. Even though he knows he should, for both their sakes.

Dear God, S.L. Jennings knows how to write a story that completely captures your heart from the first word and holds you in a vise grip until the very end. Despite Dom's manwhorish ways, it is impossible not to love the man. He is just a good caring guy. He's not cold or callous to the women he is with, but it is painful watching him go from one girl to the next. He puts his heart and soul into helping other at risk kids and I admire the hell out of him for that.

Raven was a bit more vexing for me. Overall I liked her, mostly, but the unknown hate she held for Dom pissed me off. Just get over yourself already or spit out what the hell the problem is. And then when we do find out, I kind of wanted to punch her. But together, Dom and Raven are good for each other and I wanted to see them both push past their demons and find some happy. This was a heart wrenching and emotional read that enjoyed from start to finish.
