Book Review: Searching For Someday (Searching For #1) by Jennifer Probst

Kate has a special ability that goes back for generations of women in her family. She has a special touch that not only will tell her who her true love is but helps her find true love for others. She uses that to help with her matchmaking business, Kinnections, that she started with her two best friends. But while she is great in sensing that electricity between others, she hasn't felt it for herself yet. Until him.

Slade is a top divorce lawyer in New York City, a career that has left him more than a little jaded on love and relationships. Bottom line: he doesn't believe in love or a happily ever after. When he discovers that his little sister is using Kinnections to reenter the dating world, his over protective nature kicks into hyper-drive. He storms in there determined to prove them all frauds but he wasn't expecting to be attracted to co-owner Kate. Or to get knocked on his ass by the zap of electricity that hits them when they touch. To keep an eye on his sister, Slade signs up for Kinnections to help him find the perfect woman. But how can he date when the only woman he wants is Kate? Will Kate be able to keep denying that electricity between them or that her gift says that he is the one?

So apparently I need to pay better attention because I had no idea that this was a spinoff to Jennifer Probst's Marriage To A Billionaire series. When the book of love spells made an appearance here I got all kinds of giddy! If you haven't read that series yet, you absolutely should! This was such a fun and sexy read and reminded me how much I enjoy her books. Kate is a strong yet quirky heroine that I adored. She loves cult comedy movies, her dog and her best friends and she doesn't back down from Slade. The whole magical touch she has is a different concept for me and I think it was nicely done. I'm not into the paranormal scene, but this didn't have that feel at all and it was just one of her characteristics rather than a focal point, Now Slade is an arrogant jerk at first but it did not take him long to win me over. He is good looking and cocky and beneath all of the relationship hostility, he loves and would do anything for his sister. Plus he has a lovely, dirty mouth that makes me melt.

"Fuck you and your games, counselor." He pushed his knee in the center of her pussy and her legs gave out.

"Oh, I intend to fuck you all right. All day and all night, making you come in so many ways you beg me to stop. But I won't stop, Kate, I'll use my dick and my teeth and my tongue to make you scream."

We also get quick cameos from the characters from the Marriage To A Billionaire series and it was great to see everyone doing well. The ending sets us up for book two, which is already on my "To Be Read" list. Searching For Someday made me smile and laugh, get a little teary eyed and pant for more of Slade. Once again, Jennifer Probst delivers a well rounded winner that I think any romance reader would enjoy!

"I can't slow down. I had plans to torture you until you begged for me, to make you come a thousand times before I even entered your body. But I need to be inside you. You drive me crazy, Kate. Spread your legs. Let me look at you."
