Like their friends, Oliver and Lola got married back on that crazy night in Vegas. But unlike the other two pairs, they got an annulment the next day. While the other couples are still together, these two opted to be best friends instead. Lola craves Oliver like no other man before, but she's convinced he doesn't feel the same for her. She couldn't be more wrong.
So Oliver. Sigh. I loved him. I mean I. LOVED. HIM. I think he took over the top spot from Flynn as my favorite hero in this series. I am a sucker for a sexy geek and Oliver is pretty much the definition of that. He may be on the quiet side, but in the bedroom he has a beautifully filthy side. Throw in the Aussie accent and dear god, don't even bother with panties. Plus his love for Lola was so soul deep it made my heart melt.
Lola has a slew of issues that made it hard to be in serious relationships. Her introvert personality and social awkwardness made her easy to relate to for me. However she was an extremely frustrating character. Through most of the book I wanted to shake her and tell her to snap out of it and see what was right in front of her. At times I even thought she didn't deserve him because yes, she was just being that stupid.
This was a great friends to lovers romance and I enjoyed it a lot. And I'm not gonna lie, Oliver made this story for me. He was perfection. Thanks for another great book ladies! I can't wait for the next in the series.
Favorite Quotes
My heart wants to escape, to flap out of my body and into his. And, God. Is this what it means to become infatuated with someone? A heart becomes a hybrid, half yours, half theirs. Mine beats like this because it wants out. My chest aches to let his heart in. |
"I don’t have a choice but to want to do this, Lola. I’m in love with you.” |
“Are you thinking of kissing me?” she asks. I stare right back at her mouth. Lick my lips. “Are you thinking of being kissed?” “Will you answer any question I ask?” “Yes, but only that one.” |
I don’t know how sex with Oliver can ever be slow now that I know how it feels when he’s unhinged. Forever now, when he tries to be gentle I won’t have it. No, I’ll think. I know how you feel when you absolutely fuck me. |
“Get up on the table. Let me kiss that little cunt.” |

Blurb:
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
But what didn't happen in Vegas seems to follow them everywhere.
Lola and Oliver like to congratulate themselves on having the good sense to not consummate their drunken Las Vegas wedding. If they’d doubled-down on that mistake, their Just Friends situation might not be half as great as it is now.
... Or so goes the official line.
In reality, Lola’s wanted Oliver since day one—and over time has only fallen harder for his sexy Aussie accent and easygoing ability to take her as she comes. More at home in her studio than in baring herself to people, Lola’s instinctive comfort around Oliver nearly seems too good to be true. So why ruin a good thing?
Even as geek girls fawn over him, Oliver can’t get his mind off what he didn’t do with Lola when he had the chance. He knows what he wants with her now ... and it’s far outside the friend zone. When Lola’s graphic novel starts getting national acclaim—and is then fast-tracked for a major motion picture—Oliver steps up to be there for her whenever she needs him. After all, she’s not the kind of girl who likes all that attention, but maybe she’s the kind who’ll eventually like him.
Sometimes seeing what’s right in front of us takes a great leap of faith. And sometimes a dark wild night in Vegas isn’t just the end of a day, but the beginning of a bright new life...
