Book Review: Bad Things (Tristan & Danika #1) by R.K. Lilley

Holy. Frickin. Hotness. I knew Tristan was going to be hot, but I don't think I was prepared for how hot. I wanted to read this book for 2 reasons: 1. It is a spin-off of the Up In The Air series which was crazy awesome; and 2. We met Tristan & Danika in that series and I needed to know how they got together and what the heck happened to them.

Tristan and Danika have instant chemistry, but she doesn't do hook-ups and that is all he does. So they agree to be just friends. Snort. yeah right. The electricity between them is off the charts and it is only a matter of time. Living together and spending so much time with one another makes that more and more difficult by the day. When they finally get together, holy crap, my Kindle practically ignited.

"Tell me not to kiss you," he said, when his lips were a breath away from mine. "Don't kiss me," I told him, my voice a breathless rasp. "Mean it," he said, crowding me into the corner of the pool. He tilted my chin up with his finger. "I can't," I gasped. The words had barely left my lips before he was kissing me.

“I want you to let go. I want you to submit. I want to make you lose your mind. I want you to be so far gone that the only word left in your vocabulary is my name.”

Tristan is everything I look for in a book boyfriend: built, tattooed, super protective, dominating in bed and he has a sinfully dirty mouth that makes my insides melt.

"You feel so good. So fucking tight. I'll let you rest after this time, but don't be shocked when you wake up with my dick inside of you sometime in the night."

“I'm going to fuck you hard on the hood of this car, in the pouring rain. And. You. Are. Not. Going. To. Forget. It.”

I could literally go on forever with dirty Tristan quotes, but I want you to read them in the book first. I really enjoyed this first party of the story of Tristan and Danika. There was a lot of drama and sex and angst and sex and sadness and... you guessed it: sex. And it was fantastic! A book that can make you run the gambit of emotions is a real winner for me and I loved Bad Things. I still haven't gotten all of my answers about this couple, so I am very anxious for book two, Rock Bottom to come out.

Book Description:
Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.

One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.
She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?

For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. This series can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air series.
