Star Crossed by CD Reiss

Michael Graydon has it all - looks, fame, and a couple of Oscars.
Does he see me in the crowd of paparazzi?
Does he know I sell pictures of him to the tabloids as if money could ever erase the feel of his lips on me?
Does he think I forgot the way he broke my heart?
Or does he know that I’ve ruined everything I’ve ever loved?

Star Crossed: A Hollywood Romance by [CD Reiss]

We were seventeen when I left, and I never forgot Laine. Not for one minute.
Since that day I’ve measured all women against her and every one of them has come up short.
We're in the same town, on the same block, in the same building, and the gulf between us is just too wide to cross.
Until I stop running from trouble long enough to throw her camera off a balcony.
She’s a career-killer. A PR disaster.
Loving her again is career suicide, and I don’t care.
This time, I’m running toward her, even if it ruins me.
——
Star Crossed was previously released as Shuttergirl, with an epilogue that wasn’t in the last book and previously unpublished, totally swoon-worthy and emotional new scenes.

Free for a Limited Time: Complete Submission by CD Reiss

Jonathan Drazen. A beautiful bIllionaire with a taste for obedience.
Too bad I'm not submissive. This girl will never surrender.
But I can’t stay away from him. He’s got this bossy way about him in bed. The word “Sir,” falls from my lips, and when he tells me to get on my knees…well, my knees have a mind of their own.
I got this. I can be his slave for a few nights and walk away unscathed.
We get in. Get it on. Get the hell out. Done.
He can find the line between love and lust. It’s right between my legs.
Now, let’s see if that line blurs for me.

Book Review: Hardball by CD Reiss #Giveaway

There are a handful of writers out there that I will read anything they write, no matter what, often without even bothering to read the synopsis. Of those favorites, there are only a few that cause butterflies to swirl around my belly and goosebumps to break out on my skin simply by reading the first word of a new book. CD Reiss is the top of that butterfly group for me. Whenever I learn that she's working on something new, the anticipation as I wait for it practically kills me. Her writing captures you and holds on tight and keeps you in its grasp long after you've read "the end." She will always be my #1 favorite because honestly I don't know what I would do without her books.

It's kind of daunting starting a new book by an author that you covet so much because you sometimes fear this might be the one you don't connect with. The one you don't like. It took about 1 paragraph for me to calm down and know that I had nothing to fear with Hardball. Dash is your typical superstar athlete - handsome and elusive with plenty of women to choose from. Vivian is a school librarian who has a big heart and is oblivious to her own beauty. An unlikely match for sure, but those are my favorite kind

Right off the bat you realize that Dash is a little bit quirky and not only was it endearing but sexy as well. Don't ask me how, that's just the brilliance of CD Reiss at work. I absolutely loved him! I mean, a sexy baseball player who quotes Shakespeare, has a filthy mouth and comes with a side of kink? Hell Yeah! Sign me up for one of those please.

Book Review: Shuttergirl by CD Reiss

In high school they had an undeniable connection, drawn together like magnets. Until one day he left and took it away. Years later, it is still there, throbbing and building between them. Maybe now they have a second chance. A do over. But can that really happen when they live and work on opposite ends of a camera?

I always get a little nervous when an author I adore does something outside of their norm. Though when it comes to CD Reiss, I knew I had nothing to worry about. Yes this is her first venture into a softer contemporary romance. Yes it is completely different than anything I've read by her previously. And yes, it was without a doubt exceptional. Beyond exceptional. No one writes like CD Reiss does.

NO. ONE.

Book Review: Coda (Songs of Submission #9) by CD Reiss

Jonathan and Monica have been to hell and back in recent months. Life might be moving on but the strain is making them drift apart. This final book in the Songs of Submission series (a.k.a. the best series ever) is about a husband and wife finding their way back to one another and who they are.

This one was all about the feels. Oh so many bone deep feels. The previous book, Sing, ripped my heart out and then tap danced all over it. While it might have been put back in place by the end, like these two beautiful characters it wasn't fully healed. So for me, Coda was not only about Jonathan and Monica healing, but me as well. And it was not an easy process. Sure there is some beautifully punishing Jonathan sex involved, but like I said... the feels.

I cried. A lot. Again. There is more pain, there are huge fears to overcome, but despite the hurt it was a wonderful journey. Sad doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about the series being officially over. No one has captured me like these characters have and I don't think anyone else ever will.

Release Blitz: Complete Submission by CD Reiss

If you have followed this blog for the past two years, you know how much I love the Songs of Submission series by CD Reiss. The writing is powerful and hypnotic and it was the first series of books to have me binge reading into all hours of the night. When I first discovered it, books 1 though 5 had been released and I sat on my couch for hours, devouring them all one after the other. I didn't move until I was done and waiting for each subsequent book was damn near torture. This is hands down my favorite series of all time and if you haven't had the pleasure of reading Jonathan Drazen yet, you need to grab the complete series right now for this ridiculously low price of 99¢ before it is gone.

Book Review & Blitz: Ruin (Songs of Corruption #2) by C.D. Reiss

This lady. I promise you she draws me in like no other writer. It doesn't matter how long it has been since I've read Spin,I was immediately sucked back into Theresa and Antonio's world and they had a choke hold on me until I read the very last word.

Ruin picks up shortly after Spin left off. Antonio had made his "family" aware that Theresa is his and under his protection and now they are both dealing with the repercussions of that declaration. He wants to protect her, to keep her locked up and safe but she is going stir crazy. But the threats to them are very much real, from his former right hand man to her ex, and they need to be careful.

There was so much going on in this story that made it such a thrilling ride. When Antonio and Theresa come together, there is no better way to describe it other than raw. Words like gritty, primal and animalistic also come to mind. Nothing about them is typical, which only made me love them more.

Book Review: Spin (Songs of Corruption #1) by C.D. Reiss

When it comes to author fangirling and stalking, C.D. Reiss is at the top of my list. And with very good reason: she. is. awesome. I feel like I have been waiting a lifetime for Spin and I've been burning with anticipation. So when my ARC arrived, I blocked out the world and just read. And holy hell, what I read blew me away! Antonio Spinelli is the ultimate bad boy: a mafia capo who is no stranger to violence and crime. Theresa Drazen could not be more of a straight and narrow good girl if she tried. Being with Antonio brings her to life and even though she knows she should stay away, she just can't. And neither can he.

Theresa is also dealing with her cheating, district attorney hoping to be mayor ex-fiance. At first while I certainly didn't like him, I also felt like he regretted his mistake. I didn't necessarily feel bad for him, I just felt something. Maybe pity? But by the end I just thought he was a world class douche. Antonio, on the other hand, is overflowing with passion and it doesn't matter that he is a criminal. I wanted him just as much as Theresa did. And the sex? Dear lord. The sex is rough and wild and unbelievable and I couldn't get enough of it.

C.D. Reiss is a master of erotica writing and Spin once again proves that. It is not fluffy hearts and flowers, but gritty, raw passion. Fans of her Songs of Submission series are going to love this. And for those of you who haven't read her work before, it is time you get started. I promise you will not be disappointed.
