Book Review: Endure (Evolve #4) by S.E. Hall #Giveaway

Unlike my usual book reviews, I am not going to do my short summary. Why? Well simply because I don't want to risk giving anything away, especially for the readers out there who love this series as much as I do. Now, the first book in this series, Emerge, was the first New Adult book I had ever read and I immediately fell in love with this author, this crew of characters and this genre. S.E. Hall's writing is emotional and her stories take a firm grip of your heart, while making you chuckle along the way.

I have been anxiously awaiting Zach's story for what seems like forever. Then I started reading the first half of this book and I was like "WTF is going on here?!" Not because it was bad but because it was what I expected and I was feeling confused and frustrated. As I neared the half way point, my frustration with certain characters hit a high and I wanted to scream at someone. But the second half, sigh, the second half was everything I had been waiting for.

Zach is such a good guy and he's been burned too many times. I desperately wanted to see him fall in love and be happy. I wish it didn't take so long for him and his girl to get their happily ever after, but it was worth the wait. Endure was a great ending to one of my all-time favorite New Adult series. I am sad to say goodbye to The Crew, but I loved the shit out of their journey. Thank you S.E. Hall for all the tears, the laughter and the panty melting hotness.

Book Review: Matched by S.E. Hall & Angela Graham

Eight celebrities and their plus ones on a beautiful tropical island. Some brought lovers, some brought friends and others brought family. Brought them where and for what? On a reality television show for charity, which also has everyone's hearts on the line. The computer's have matched everyone with another contestant as their soul mate, but how will they figure out who belongs with who? And who will get hurt in the process?

You know, I'm not a fan of reality TV, at all. I hardly, if ever, watch it, but I sure as hell enjoyed reading this story about it! I am going to be as vague as possible in this review because I really don't want to give a single thing away. There is one couple who came on the show, the football star and his high school sweetheart, feeling confident that they are each others soul mate. But will the show's computer agree with them? And can their love withstand the conniving bitches who will stop at nothing to win?

There is also the sexy as sin motocross star with his cocky attitude and wicked smirk, who I instantly fell in love with, and his sweet little sister who you just want to see happy. Then there are, of course, evil skanks abound spreading their legs and causing trouble everywhere.

Book Review: Pretty Instinct (Finally Found #1) by S.E. Hall

Liz Carmichael comes from a fairly screwed up family dynamic. Her father is pure evil, so when her mother died, she bought a tour bus and hopped on it with her brother Connor and her two best friends to tour the country as the band See You Next Tuesday. Connor, Rhett, Jarret and Uncle Bruce are her family and the bus is her only home. But now they are in desperate need of a new bassist. Could the stunning male specimen trotting across the rest stop caring a guitar be the answer to their prayers?

Cannon Blackwell's fiance, now ex-fiance, dumped him at a rest stop with is bag and guitar and no way to call for a ride. Plain and simple, he is stuck in the middle of nowhere. Until a petite little thing approaches him and demands that he pee in a cup and join her band. And as crazy as it sounds, he finds that he just can't say no to her. What follows is a beautiful journey to finding true love amidst all the other crap life throws at you.

I seriously don't even know where to start. I don't think that S.E. Hall is capable of writing anything other than stellar 5-star books. I've read her entire Evolve series and loved them all, but Pretty Instinct top s them all. It is witty and funny, sweet and romantic and painfully heartbreaking. These characters and their emotions became a part of me and became my emotions. I was so heavily invested in this story and the outcome that I stayed up until 3:00 AM to finish it. Is it hard to function on 3 hours of sleep with 4 kids? Hell yeah! But it was more than worth it.

Book Review: Entice (Evolve #3) by S.E. Hall

Ever since the first book in this series, I think we've all been anxiously awaiting Sawyer's story. From just the little glimpses of him that we were treated to, it was impossible not to adore him. He sees his friends falling like flies and he finally realizes that he is missing something. Sawyer's own tale of love is everything I knew it could be and more. Sexy, bold, say-it-like-it-is Sawyer had me laughing my ass off. Some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is just hilarious. I love when a book literally makes me laugh out loud.

Ever since we last saw Sawyer at Parker's bachelor party, he's been pining and searching for the beautiful but awful stripper. And of course he finds her at the most inopportune moment. Emmett is everything he's built up in his head and so much more. She's funny and sweet and he is 100% hooked. But she is also carrying a big secret that she knows will send Sawyer packing. I honestly could not figure out what the secret was and was pretty shocked when she finally told him.

We learn so much about Sawyer in this book. Sure he's a player but he is also sweet and loving and fiercely loyal. The way he treats Emmett melts me. I enjoyed Entice just as much as the previous book, though Danie is still my #1, and I hope S.E. Hall has plans for more books about "The Crew." Perhaps we could get Zach's story next?

Book Review: Entangled (Evolve #2.5) by S.E. Hall

The Crew is back in this short, sizzling novella. And I mean sizzling. Entangled picks up where Embrace left off and gives us a peek at The Crew's summer through Laney's and Dane's eyes. Laney is set tipping up her duplex that Dane bought her and in the process their intimacy kicks up a notch. She is as stubborn and mouthy as ever which only fuels Deane's desire for her. W can see more of his dominant side coming out and it is magnificent and hot. I felt like there was more sex in this novella than in the previous full length novels and I loved envy single steamy second of it!

“Move your panties to the side,” he growls, voice and eyes hazed with lust and hunger, both imploring me before he leans down to suck along my chest, my throat, frenzied and impatient. “Do it, baby, just pull ‘em to the side, I need in you.”

“I love you like this, so untamed. You dance like you fuck, smooth and sexy.”

Meanwhile, Dane is contemplating making some big changes in his life. When his parents died, Dane was thrust into running a business that he never wanted to run. He doesn't hate it, but he doesn't love it either. He longs to be able to act more his age and be a part of Laney's college world. Can he make that transition without hurting the business and will his friends support him?

Book Review & Tour: Embrace (Evolve #2) by S.E. Hall #Giveaway

At the end of Emerge, Evan had his heart shattered into a million pieces. I have to say that I was team Dane all the way, but I hated seeing Evan hurt. He's a sweet, handsome, true Southern gentleman and I really wanted to see him get his happily ever after.

Embrace begins right where we left off. Evan is not only heartbroken, but understandably angry and bitter. However, the last person I expected him to connect with was the one person I hated: Whitley. I seriously had a WTF moment and at 15% into the book I was very unhappy about Evan and Whitley being friends.

Do you know what one of the marks of a great author is? A great author has the ability to take a character you despise and make you love them by the end of the book. At about the halfway point I actually liked Whitley and was happy they were friends. By the end I was all "Whitely + Evan = True Love Forever!"

Book Review: Emerge (Evolve) by S.E. Hall

The New Adult Romance genre is continuing to explode and expand, bringing with it great new books and new authors. Emerge, the first book in the Evolve series by S.E. Hall is one of those books. I'm not sure what I expected when I started reading this, but I certainly wasn't expecting it to captivate me so quickly. I literally started reading it and did not stop until I finished, with the the occasional eye lift to flip some chicken and stir some pasta. It was that good.

Laney and Evan have been best friends since they were 10 years old. They are inseparable and have done everything together. As there senior year comes to an end, they discover that their feeling run much deeper than friendship. Unfortunately, fate has them going to colleges hours apart from each other, so Laney decides they should break it off so neither has an expectations. Will distance make to heart grow fonder or will it break apart their newly budding love? When she meets Dane, there is instant attraction and chemistry between them. She will have to decided if she wants to explore those feelings with Dane or stick to what she has always known.

I'm always a little hesitant when it comes to reading stories of love triangles. I don't like cheating or people getting hurt. This as close to a spoiler as I will ever post on here, but I feel it necessary to point out there is no cheating in this story. I know how that can deter some people from reading a novel so I wanted to put that out there. Unfortunately, though, in a love triangle, someone always gets hurt.
