Book Review: Divine Ecstasy (Guardians of the Realms #8) by Setta Jay
This series. Gah! While I have more than enjoyed all the male Guardian stories, I have been anxiously waiting for the next female Guardian to find a mate. We know that it is more difficult for the female Guardians to find mates because their male needs to be more powerful than themselves. Well who could be more powerful that a Guardian? A God of course! I don't know why I didn't see that one coming, but I didn't and it was a fantastic surprise for me.
Sacha has always been pretty low key in the previous books so it is almost funny that Hades would be her mate. I mean the God is anything but low key. But as soon as he learns of his mate, you kind of see him just settle into the role of protective male and wow was it wonderful. He's still seriously intense, as are all these delicious alpha-males, but everything in him is focused on Sacha and it is both hot and heartwarming. I just loved mated Hades!
Now there is, of course, so much else going on in the story, like the small matter of the fate of the worlds. Throw in a new world with mysterious Gods and a smidgen of utter confusion and well, we have quite an awesome book!

Book Review: Searing Ecstasy (Guardians of the Realms #7) by Setta Jay #Giveaway
Searing Ecstasy is the most perfect title for this book as there is heat and fire everywhere in it. Literally. Fans of this series have been anxiously for the day the leader of the Guardians, Drake, found his mate. Well it is finally here and it did NOT disappoint.
So much happens in this book which makes it exciting and fast paced plus down right sexy. There's a God missing, mysterious warriors about and not one but two Guardians in the midst of the mating frenzy. All of these different parts mesh together for a phenomenal story that is very hard to put down.
Drake is forced to stay away from his mate, Delia, until the Guardians can find a way to help her. The result is an intense build up of sexual tension and desire. I couldn't wait for Drake to finally explode and unleash all of it on her. It was pretty damn epic. Meanwhile, Sander and Nastia are dealing with their own mating issues. I have to say I liked Sander a whole hell of a lot. Like maybe even more than Drake (unbelievable, I know). Plus I enjoyed the banter between him and his mate and more importantly, he burned up my kindle.

Book Review: Binding Ecstasy (Guardians of the Realms #6) by Setta Jay
One by one, Bastian has watched his brother Guardians find their mates.
It warns of bigger things to come within the Realms but he also can't
help but wonder if he might be next. While it isn't something he had
ever hoped to find, now that the possibility is there he can't help but
to be filled with anticipation. Natasha and her twin Nastia were
Apollo's secret weapons. After finally escaping him, they have been
waiting centuries to get their revenge on the God who experimented on
them and held them captive. She in no way expected Bastian or the frenzy
that took over her body when they meet. She doesn't understand any of
this talk about mates and her brain doesn't trust him but her body has a
mind of its own. While these two are discovering each other, what new
threats will come upon the Realms?
I know I say it after I read every one of Setta Jay's book but OH MY GOD
I love this series! And this book was every bit as good as the others.
I. Loved. It. From the first page I'm transported to a fantasy world and
I never (ever) want to leave. Once again, the author has created a
powerful story filled with action, suspense and lots of steamy sex.
These Guardians can be down right filthy at times and it is delicious.
I liked Bastian a whole hell of a lot. In addition to his alpha warrior side, he also has a sweeter side that makes you melt and makes him irresistible. Natasha is another strong, independent female lead who has no problem keeping up with her Guardian or putting him in his place when needed. They were perfect together.

Book Review: Piercing Ecstasy (Guardians of the Realms #5) by Setta Jay
Jax is pretty much the textbook definition of a man whore. Over the centuries he has been know for his insatiable sexual appetite and he keeps a harem of women, and occasionally a man, at his beck and call. However, with so many of his Guardian brothers finding their mates, he knows he will probably be finding his own soon as well.
Illeana has been completely on her own since she was a little girl. Her only goal in life is revenge and she has made sure she is a kick ass warrior so she can get what she desperately aches for. The minute she sees and scents Jax, she knows exactly what he is to her and how screwed she is. Her search was just starting to get somewhere and now she will have to deal with this inconvenience.
I have to admit that I was a bit wary of Jax based on things he said in the previous book. He just came off as a bit of a jerk. But I worried for no reason because he was amazing. Setta has a beautiful talent for writing alpha males with the most delicious dirty mouths and Jax's had me melting through the entire book. But beyond his dirty words, I loved the way he was with Illeana. The tenderness and appreciation he showed for his mate was swoon worthy.

Book Review: Tempting Ecstasy (Guardians of the Realms #4) by Setta Jay
Guardian Conn has gotten a scent of his mate and now he can't wait to meet her. To get his hands on her. He has tracked her down and is finally getting his first glimpse of her beauty. Dacia and her family are immortals who have been quietly living on Earth and unaware of how many other immortals there are out there. She is taken completely by surprise by the beautiful creature standing in her him and claiming she is his. Where did he come from and why does she feel compelled to climb him.
Conn has his work cut out for him with Dacia, getting her to trust him and explain pretty much everything to her. But he is looking forward to it, despite how being so closer to her is sweet torture. Dacia is determined not to give into the mating frenzy until she knows more and completely trusts Conn. But there is only so much she can take before she caves.
There are so many things that I love about Conn. For one, I love how he embraced his mate. He didn't try to fight it or run from it. He was genuinely happy to have found Dacia. Even more than that, I really liked how patient he was with her. Conn understood how overwhelming everything was for her and had no problem waiting for her to get to a place where she felt safe and comfortable giving into the frenzy. Plus like all of Setta's heroes, he has a beautifully dirty mouth.

Book Review: Denying Ecstasy (Guardians of the Realms #3) by Setta Jay
Guardian Dorian doesn't want a mate. Ever. A century ago betrayal has left him tainted towards women and feeling unworthy of happiness. But his brother Guardians are suddenly finding their own mates and it looks like he is next. As soon as he scents Rain, he knows she is his. But he wants nothing to do with her and her hot little body and he plans to fight the mating frenzy every step of the way. Unfortunately for him, that gets considerably more difficult once he touches her.
After all the years fantasizing of what it would be like to find her mate, Rain can't believe her's turned out to be such an asshole. Dorian's rejection equally hurts her and pisses her off and she plans on giving him a piece of her mind. That is, if she can actually get him to stay in a room with her for more than a few seconds. Or pull her mouth away from his long enough to talk.
When Dorian realizes just how much staying away is physically and emotionally hurting Rain, will he finally stop denying what is meant to be? Or will he continue to torture both of them?
I've said it before and I'll say it again (and again and again until you tell me to shut up): I. Love. This. Series. All of the men are dominant, dirty talking alphas and Dorian is no different. He was a pretty big jerk at the start and his avoidance of the inevitable was extremely frustrating, but eventually he makes up for it. With his mouth and in more ways than one.

Book Review: Ecstasy Claimed (The Guardians of the Realms #2) by Setta Jay
Gregoire has known about his mate for 25 years. Yet even though he could have claimed her five years ago, he waited, knowing she was still too young to handle him. That hasn't stopped him from wanting her though. Desperately. But he has had to settle for watching her from a far; needing to keep his distance to avoid setting off their mating frenzy.
Alyssa has just learned that her parents have been keeping a huge secret from her; she has a mate. And not just any mate, a damn Guardian. Now she is pissed. Pissed at them for not telling her and pissed at Gregoire for not claiming her. That rejection stings more than she cares to admit and only adds to her many insecurities. She is small for er race and everyone makes sure she knows it. Well, she is done living her life by everyone else's will.
After watching his closest Guardian brother Uri in his mating ceremony to Alex, Gregoire knows the time has come to claim Alyssa. But Alyssa has many insecurities to overcome and only a few days to process she has a mate... will she be able to find happiness with him? They definitely have some obstacles to overcome while also dealing with the turmoil within the Realms.

Book Review: Ecstasy Unbound (The Guardians of the Realms #1) by Setta Jay
This is probably going to be a long winded review with a lot of background info on me that you don't care about, but that's just too bad. lol. If you've been following me at all over the past year you know that I don't read paranormal romance. More specifically, I have NEVER read one. Ever. I don't have anything against the genre, it's just that blood sucking vampires and werewolves don't interest me. Author Setta Jay is someone I have chatted with on social media often and she is an absolute sweetheart so when she was like "The prequel novella to my PNR series is FREE!" I was all like "OK, I'll give it a try." And do you know what happened? I liked it. A lot.
Now paranormal books might not have ever been my thing, but fantasy was. Before I discovered Fifty Shades of Grey and all things smut, I read Star Wars novels. A lot of them. I have to say that Setta's The Guardians of the Realms series feels more like fantasy to me with paranormal elements, which is probably why I'm enjoying it so much. There are no undead, no vampires. Instead there are steaming hot Immortals, Demi-Gods, shape-shifters and that is totally right up my alley. The first page that popped up when I started Ecstasy Unbound was the characters/terms list and I immediately got giddy. I forgot how much I liked fantasy worlds so I dove right in and never looked back!
