Release Blitz: Wild Thing by J.A. Huss

WILD THING is a smokin’-hot, sexy story of a runaway princess and her reluctant Prince Charming. A tantalizing tale of forced marriage, captive submission, and a hero who doesn’t know he’s a hero until he meets the girl he was meant to save.

Kidnapping her was the easy part. Now I’ve got to tame her.
Runaway corporate princess, Lyssa Baylor, was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.
But that’s not what I’ll be sticking in there.

LYSSA
Freelance princess hunter, Mason Macintyre, thinks he’s so tough with those bulging muscles. He thinks he’s so smart with his plan to tame me with spankings and submission. Well, I’ve got news for him. They don’t call me Wild Thing for nothing. I’ve been playing unruly princess my whole life and I’m not about to stop now.

MASON
This was supposed to be a simple kidnap job. Catch her and bring her in so she can be married off to the son of a family friend. But once her father realizes the man he hired to reform his unruly brat of a daughter won’t be able to handle her, he blackmails me into completing the job. No one blackmails me, I don’t care how rich and powerful you are. Her father might be untouchable, but Lyssa isn’t. I’m gonna touch her all over and punish her so hard, that forced marriage will be her only way out of my little princess reform school.

Excerpt
She smiles at herself in the mirror. “Now this is a wedding dress.”
And I agree. So different than the one she used to wipe my come off her face.
“But oh,” she says, turning to look at her ass in the mirror. “Panty lines.”
And then, before I even realize what she’s doing, she reaches inside the side slits along each thigh and pulls her panties down, kicking them off to the side.
“Lyssa!”
“This is why I never wear underwear,” she explains. “I need to see if it looks OK without them. Because with them—”
“You are not walking down the aisle with no panties on.”
“Oh, yes, I am. This is a no-panties dress and you picked it out. So you have to live with it.”
My cock agrees with her. Because I’m fully fucking hard now.
She glances down at it, then lifts her eyes to mine, and says, “I hope you’re not thinking—”
“I’m not,” I say.
“—because if you wanted to do dirty stuff in here, we could get caught—”
“Don’t worry,” I say.
“—and Margaret would be so disappointed in us if she caught the best man fucking his best friend’s fiancée.”
“What?” I say, doing a double-take.
“That’s what I told her. It’s kinda hot, isn’t it?”
“No,” I say. “It’s kinda sad, actually.”
“Well, it was a lie, anyway. So that just makes it hot.“
“Jesus, Lyssa.”
She mouths the words Wild Thing at me, then reaches down to grab my cock.
I push her away, but she backs me into the mirror with a bang.
“Everything OK in there?” Margaret calls from the other side of the door.
“Just fine,” I yell back, glaring at Lyssa.
“Come on,” she whispers. “Wild thing, hold me tight.” And then she giggles.
“That’s not even how the song goes—”
But I stop. Because the next thing I know, she’s on her knees in front of me, the button popped on my jeans, the zipper down, and my cock is in her hands.
“Lyssa,” I groan.
“Tell me no,” she says, then sticks the head of my cock in her mouth, pressing her tongue up against my shaft, before I even have a chance.
“Would you like another dress?” Margaret calls.
Lyssa eases her mouth off my cock with a loud smacking sound and looks up at me. “What do you think, Mason? Do we need to try on another one?”
“No,” I call back to Margaret. “We’ll let you know if we need anything else.”
“I could wrap it up for you,” Margaret offers, just as Lyssa puts my cock back in her mouth and takes me deep into her throat.
“Uh… we’re not quite…. oh, God… done yet,” I say.
“OK, I’m right out here if you need anything.”
“Great,” I groan. Because Lyssa is giving me a full-on head-bobbing messy blow-job. And against my better judgment, my fingers are now tangled in her hair, urging her on.
She pulls off me, both her hands on my thighs, pushing me back, and then she stands again.
“What are you doing?” I ask.
“Making you choose.”
“Choose what?”
She backs up against the mirror and whispers, “You know why you chose the dress with two slits?”
I already know where this is going.
“Because I can do this.” She pulls the center portion of material aside and flashes her bare pussy at me. “And you,” she says, grabbing my shirt and pulling me towards her so my cock bumps into her leg, “can put that inside me and I don’t even have to take my clothes off.”
“I’m not gonna fuck you,” I whisper back.
Why not? she silently mouths and simultaneously pouts.
“Because you’re not mine, Lyssa.”
She sighs. Frowning. Giving up. Because she leans back against the wall and wilts. “I want to be yours.”
“You can’t be,” I say.
“Why not?”
“Because you’re engaged. And I’m just… I’m just your fucking babysitter.”
She slides her hand between her legs, then withdraws it and places the tip of her glistening wet finger against my lips.
I close my eyes and open my mouth, my cock totally in charge now. I suck on her finger the way she was just sucking on my cock.
“Please,” she whispers. So low, I almost don’t hear her. “I promise to be good in every other way if you just… make me feel loved right now.”
I pull her finger out of my mouth and say, “Lyssa,” feeling sad for her.
“We can pretend,” she says. “Right?” She places both her hands on my cheeks and leans in. Kisses me.
I kiss her back.
I know I shouldn’t. I feel the guilt of a best man fucking his best friend’s fiancée, and I don’t even care.
If her name is Lyssa Baylor then I want to fuck my best friend’s fiancée.
“Everybody pretends,” she whispers past my lips. “It’s all fake, Mason. So who cares, anyway?”
She pulls her dress aside again, reaching for my cock. And when she tugs on it, I do the unthinkable. I take two steps forward and we’re not even two steps apart. So now my chest is pressing up against her breasts, forcing her against the wall. She lifts up her leg and I brush the middle section of satin dress over the side of her thigh to get it out of the way.
And after that, it takes no effort at all to slip my cock inside her.
The one thing I told myself I wouldn’t do.
I would eat her out, and let her blow me. And kiss her, and suck her nipples, and smack her ass, and all that other stuff. And it would be OK if I just didn’t fuck her.
And now I’m fucking her.
In her wedding dress.

Crazy for Your Love, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Ryan is live!

A family wedding with a fake boyfriend, meddling parents, and an obsessive ex . . . What could go wrong?

The only thing worse than being single at my sister’s wedding is finding out that my ex will be there too. Not just any ex—the guy everyone expected me to marry, the man I came to Jackson Harbor to escape.

Sweet and sexy, Carter is completely off-limits. See, I have a rule. A no heartache rule.
Not only is Carter my friend and a known heartbreaker, but his job as a firefighter puts him in danger daily, and that’s something I just can’t handle.

The commitment between us might be pretend, but the passion all too real. As crazy as it makes me, I have to keep Carter at an arm’s length. Even that might not be enough to spare my heart.

Book Review: Bossman by Vi Keeland #Giveaway

Reese desperately needs to be rescued from the world's most boring date, she just didn't expect the sexy stranger who insulted her a few minutes ago near the bathrooms to be her savior. Not only is Chase gorgeous, but he has an uncanny ability to make up outrageous yet somehow believable stories on the fly. Too bad she'll never see him again. Except she does. And often. And then suddenly she's working for him. How the hell did that happen?

This book was just so much fun to read.  I cried a little bit and I laughed a lot and I just enjoyed it so very much. Chase and Reese both have painful pasts, and yes those experiences cause some angst and drama and pain. I definitely felt for both of them, especially Chase who clearly has not fully healed. Reese really tried to fight the attraction, and I give her credit for lasting as long as she did, I sure wouldn't have. But once she finally gave in, they were oh so good together.

I always enjoy a Boss/Employee romance but add in Vi Keeland's heat that I've come to love and the humor that kept me smiling throughout and you just have a great hot summer read in your hands. I definitely recommend this book and I continue to look forward to more from this author.

Filthy English (English #2) by Ilsa Madden-Mills #Giveaway

Filthy English has all the makings of the type of romance book that I love:
  • Hot British tattooed bad boy? Check.
  • Second chance romance? Check.
  • Authored by Ilsa Madden-Mills, whom I would enjoy reading notes scribbled on toilet paper if they were written by her? Check.

(Did that sound creepy and stalkerish? I swear I'm not a stalker. Much.)

Bad boy Dax has a filthy tongue and he's not afraid to use it. He and Remi shared a memorable few days together years ago, but it went to shit rather quickly and they have avoided each other ever since. Now they stand next to each other in a bar in England, only they don't know it. That is until their mouths find each other again and recognition instantly sparks. As well as sexual chemistry. Can they have a each other again without dredging up past hurt and emotion?

So yeah, Dax is hot. I always love a sexy hero with ink, but throw in the British accent and it tips me over the edge, in the best way possible. I did enjoy him and his filthy mouth very much. Ilsa always has a way of making you just feel right along with her characters and boy did I feel with Dax. Not just the sex, and oh yeah I felt that, but everything else. Despite outwards appearances, Dax hides some major insecurities and it pained me to feel how vulnerable he was underneath.  I needed to see him realize how special and deserving he was.

Book Review: Stuck-Up Suit (Cocky Bastard #2) by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward

After reading the awesomeness that was Cocky Bastard, I could not wait for another book from this writing duo. I loved the premise of this book and how the Graham and Soraya meet: by her watching his hot, arrogant ass on the train and then finding his lost phone. What followed her discovery was pretty damn hilarious. She might have called some of the numbers stored in his phone. And she just might have texted some others. I loved this, it had me cracking up, and I really wish she did some more of that and we got to see his reaction to it. Then of course there is the entire returning the phone interaction that was just priceless. Followed by some fun and dirty banter. All of this together was really working for me and kept me laughing while I waited for the sexy stuff.

I liked Soraya a lot - her personality was fun and strong and really shown through the pages. Plus, her name is kind of kick ass. Sure Graham was arrogant and way too serious for his own good, but Soraya brought out the best in him. The progression of their relationship, however, fell just a bit flat for me. I can't really pinpoint why other than maybe it felt rushed? It's weird because it was good in so many ways but there was something missing that kept me from absolutely loving them together.

The obstacles they faced were pretty intense and I found myself extremely disappointed in their choices, particularly Soraya's. I went from adoring her to wanting to smack some sense into her. While this may not have been as big a hit for me as Cocky Bastard was (tough act to follow, honestly), it was still a good, fun and sexy read that I enjoyed. I hope this duo continues to collaborate on more books as I know it's a guaranteed good time.

Book Review: Hardball by CD Reiss #Giveaway

There are a handful of writers out there that I will read anything they write, no matter what, often without even bothering to read the synopsis. Of those favorites, there are only a few that cause butterflies to swirl around my belly and goosebumps to break out on my skin simply by reading the first word of a new book. CD Reiss is the top of that butterfly group for me. Whenever I learn that she's working on something new, the anticipation as I wait for it practically kills me. Her writing captures you and holds on tight and keeps you in its grasp long after you've read "the end." She will always be my #1 favorite because honestly I don't know what I would do without her books.

It's kind of daunting starting a new book by an author that you covet so much because you sometimes fear this might be the one you don't connect with. The one you don't like. It took about 1 paragraph for me to calm down and know that I had nothing to fear with Hardball. Dash is your typical superstar athlete - handsome and elusive with plenty of women to choose from. Vivian is a school librarian who has a big heart and is oblivious to her own beauty. An unlikely match for sure, but those are my favorite kind

Right off the bat you realize that Dash is a little bit quirky and not only was it endearing but sexy as well. Don't ask me how, that's just the brilliance of CD Reiss at work. I absolutely loved him! I mean, a sexy baseball player who quotes Shakespeare, has a filthy mouth and comes with a side of kink? Hell Yeah! Sign me up for one of those please.

Book Review: Sinful Love (Sinful Nights #4) by Lauren Blakely #Giveaway

I've been in love with this series from the beginning not only for the sexy love stories but also for the murder mystery aspect. Watching all the pieces of the puzzle fall together over the course of these novels has been very intriguing. So I couldn't wait to dig into this final installment.

Michael and Annalise were each others' first loves eighteen years ago, but time and distance took them away from each other. All these years later they are in the same city again, can they rekindle that old love? In the beginning of the book, I admit I really wasn't feeling it with Michael and Annalise. I love a second chance romance but there was just a disconnect for me here. I didn't particularly care for Annalise, not because she necessarily did anything wrong, she was just kind of "meh" for me. Michael. on the other hand, I absolutely adored. When he loves he give his whole damn heart away and it was clear he never got it back from this girl. I wanted to protect him and shield him from further heartbreak I was sure she was going to inflict.

Book Review: Hawke (Cold Fury Hockey #5) by Sawyer Bennett

Hawke and Vale have a deep history. They spent four years together and crazy in lover before it all came screeching to a halt. Seven years later, Hawke is now an NHL superstar and Vale is the new assistant trainer for his team, the Carolina Cold Fury. He thought he got over what happened ages ago, until he sees her again and is surprised by the surge of emotions he feels. He is still extremely angry at Vale but there is something else hiding there beneath the anger. There is no way he will acknowledge that feeling or admit what it is to himself. Can they get the closure and finally maybe give things another go or is there too much hurt ro ever get past?

The boys of the Carolina Cold Fury are back! Squeeee! I love me some Sawyer Bennett hockey smut! I've enjoyed this series and have been looking forward to reading about new Cold Fury teammate Hawke. The prologue really hits you right in the chest and hooks you and sets up what you know off the bat won't be an easy love story. But I love second chance romances  and was eager to see how this played out.

I liked Vale despite the huge mistakes she made in the past. While I might not agree with her choices, I do get it. Hawke made some mistakes too and when you put all of it together its a colossal case of miscommunication. Seven years later I think Vale has grown leaps and bounds however Hawke really hasn't grown up at all. So I had some issues with him cause he really was kind of a jerl. Still partying hard and getting stupid drunk but it was that stubborn pride that really made me want to punch him. Even when truths come out he holds onto his anger and uses it as a shield and even a weapon, hurtling right at Vale. Not cool. So it left a bitter taste in my mouth for him.

Book Review: Ink & Lies by S.L. Jennings #Giveaway

August and Fiona have been the best of friends for the past decade. While he is excellent at writing romance novels, he fails when it comes to real life romance. Because he doesn't believe in love and happily ever afters, he doesn't see what has been right in front of him for years. But when he finally opens his eyes and his heart and admits how he feels, will it be too late?

I've read all but one book that S.L. Jennings has written (it's on my list, believe me) and I continue to be blown away by this author's versatility. She's written heartbreaking and emotional (Fear Of Series), sexy and dirty (Sexual Education Series) and even paranormal romance (Dark Light Series) and all of them she has written extremely well. Ink & Lies is completely different than any of those and it is my favorite of her books to date. The hero, August, is funny, self-deprecating and a bit of a man-whore, but Jesus he's got a heart of gold underneath all of that armor.

The tone of the story was so different and I think that is largely in part to it being told from the male's point of view. I love books written this way and Ms. Jennings absolutely nailed. While I was certainly frustrated with August and Fiona and their inability to just get out of their own damn ways when it came to their relationship, it just made the inevitable that much sweeter. Though I admit I had some serious doubts about the out come here.

Book Review: The Baller (Down & Dirty Football #1) by Vi Keeland #Giveaway

The last thing that up and coming sports reporter Delilah Maddox needs during her first locker room interview is a cocky football player giving her a hard time. However, that is exactly what she gets from star quarterback Brody Easton. Emphasis on cocky and hard. Brody isn't used to women turning him down and he wants Delilah badly, but she doesn't go out with "players." What follows is a relentless, sexy and comical pursuit that Delilah has no hopes on escaping. But Brody has some shit in his past so what happens when all of that resurfaces just when he's got Delilah right where he wants her?

I have had the honor and pleasure of reading and reviewing most of Vi Keeland's book and I swear each one is better than the last. The Baller is by far my favorite from this author and one of my top 2 favorites of 2016 so far. It was just brilliant! It had humor and amazing tension and sexy times while also blending in an intense level of emotions. I loved Brody, of course (who wouldn't?), but who I really fell in love with was Delilah. It's not often that I like a heroine this much, as in never, but Delilah was awesome. So strong and sometimes hilarious. There was a certain scene with a certain outfit that had me hysterical I may have even peed a little bit. She is seriously amazing and I want to be her when I grow up.

Book Review: Wicked Lust (Wicked Horse #2) by Sawyer Bennett

What's hotter than a sexy alpha cowboy that fulfills sexual fantasies? The answer you're looking for is nothing. Nothing is fucking hotter than that. Welcome back to The Wicked Horse!

When Sawyer first introduced Cain at the end of book one, I nearly exploded and I've been dying to read his story ever since. Cain is the head of security at The Wicked Horse as well as a fantasy maker for the dirtier side of the business. And a damn good one. He has no desire to be in a relationship again and this allows him to indulge in endless sex while working towards a good bonus.

Sloane is a reporter here only to sniff out a scandalous story on the supposed sex club. However, she did not plan on Cain. At first she thought to use their attraction to get the information she needs for the story. She soon realizes he is someone special and using him is the last thing she wants to do. But what choice does she have? Both are holding back secrets and it is only a matter of time before the truth is out and everything crumbles.

Book Review: Big Rock by Lauren Blakely #Giveaway

Spencer Holiday is one of New York City's most prominent playboys. But at least he is a gentleman about it. He always makes sure that a woman is well cared for and well satisfied before he sends them on their merry way. Now his father needs him to tone down his manwhore ways to help his father secure the sale of his business, so he ropes in his best friend and business partner, Charlotte, into playing the part of his fiance. Charlotte needs to get her ex off her back so she figures this fiance charade is the perfect way to do that. With a few ground rules in place, what could go wrong?

OMG I loved this book. L.O.V.E.D. It is told 100% from the man's point of view (yessssss!) and it is witty and hilarious and frickin hot. This was such a fun and lighthearted read and as soon as I was done I wanted to start it all over again. Spencer is absolutely delicious. Gentleman playboy might sound like a ridiculous oxymoron, but it truly is what he is. And trust me when I say it is a lethal combination. Poor Charlotte didn't stand a chance. And as it turns out, neither did Spencer. I love a good friends to lovers romance and this one has become one of my top favorites. I don't reread books very often (hardly ever, honestly) but this is going on my to re-read list. LOVE!

Love: Uncivilized (Uncivilized #1.5) by Sawyer Bennett

Eight years after Zach and Moira fell in love, now they are married with two young children. While their love is still going strong, they are struggling with the mundane and stress that seem to have taken over. Can they find a way to work through their issues and have a happy Christmas?

I think this short read is something that any married couple with kids can relate to. You sometimes just get to a point where your relationship with your spouse takes a back seat to the kids and maybe even work. It's not right, but unfortunately it's what happens.

Moira is home with her two kiddos while Zach works crazy long hours. His time away is starting to take a toll on his family, especially with Moira reentering the workforce. Thankfully their sex life hasn't tamed at all and Zach still can be wild animal in bed.  But God I was so frustrated with both of them. With Zach for knowing his wife was unhappy but choosing to ignore it and then with Moira for not opening her damn mouth and discussing the issues. So yeah, frustrating. But very real.

As usual, Sawyer's writing is engaging, fun and damn hot and I really enjoyed this quick holiday novella. I highly recommend reading Uncivilized first though this can be read as a stand alone.

Book Review: The Cornerstone (Walsh Family #4) by Kate Canterbary

I love this fuckin series so hard!

OK now that I've gotten that out of the way...

Shannon Walsh is the glue that holds her family together. Her four brothers count on her for pretty much everything and she gives her all to take care of their every need. But she doesn't let anyone take care of her. Whether she wants to admit it or not, it is starting to take its toll.

When Will Halsted met the smart mouthed red head at his sister's wedding, he immediately thought of ways to keep her mouth busy and quiet. Their heated words turn into a couple nights of intense passion. Then that one weekend turned into stolen weekends together here and there. Soon he realizes he could never get enough of her. But she's got thick brick walls surrounding her heart and he's determined to be the man to knock them down.

Hands down, Will is my new favorite hero in this series. He is the perfect amount of bossy, attentive and loving all wrapped up in a hot Navy SEAL package. I absolutely loved the snarky banter between these two that almost always led to super hot hate fucking. And the dirty things that came out of his mouth? Totally melted me into a puddle of goo.

Book Review: Final Debt (Indebted #6) by Pepper Winters #Giveaway

Finally, it's here! The thrilling, erotic, nail biting, "OMFG I can't take anymore!" conclusion to Pepper Winters' Indebted series. I was equal parts anxious for this book and terrified of it. I have never been so scared and stressed out while reading before. At about the 40% point or so I wanted to rip my damn hair out. Seriously, it made me binge eat junk food and I have been working extra hard to eat clean!

Nila, Jethro and those they care about have all gone through agonizing pain to get to where they are. How much more can any of them take before they buckle and crack? Oh trust me, you're going to find out and live all of the pain yourself. I loved these star-crossed lovers from the very first word of their story and no one deserves a happily ever after more than they do. But is that really in the cards for them? Can they put a stop to this heinous debt inheritance before the final debt is collected? Blood will be shed, tears will be cried and you may even want to hide your Kindle in fear. (I don't recommend putting it in the freezer).

This entire book had me tense with apprehension. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next while simultaneously being terrified of it. I did not a breath a deep sigh of relief until I got to the end and knew no more damn pain was coming. What an epic journey this series has been and I loved every second of it. Thank you Ms. Winters.

Book Review: Endure (Evolve #4) by S.E. Hall #Giveaway

Unlike my usual book reviews, I am not going to do my short summary. Why? Well simply because I don't want to risk giving anything away, especially for the readers out there who love this series as much as I do. Now, the first book in this series, Emerge, was the first New Adult book I had ever read and I immediately fell in love with this author, this crew of characters and this genre. S.E. Hall's writing is emotional and her stories take a firm grip of your heart, while making you chuckle along the way.

I have been anxiously awaiting Zach's story for what seems like forever. Then I started reading the first half of this book and I was like "WTF is going on here?!" Not because it was bad but because it was what I expected and I was feeling confused and frustrated. As I neared the half way point, my frustration with certain characters hit a high and I wanted to scream at someone. But the second half, sigh, the second half was everything I had been waiting for.

Zach is such a good guy and he's been burned too many times. I desperately wanted to see him fall in love and be happy. I wish it didn't take so long for him and his girl to get their happily ever after, but it was worth the wait. Endure was a great ending to one of my all-time favorite New Adult series. I am sad to say goodbye to The Crew, but I loved the shit out of their journey. Thank you S.E. Hall for all the tears, the laughter and the panty melting hotness.

Book Review: Perfectly Imperfect by Harper Sloan #Giveaway

Willow Tate lost the one person in her life that loved her unconditionally. Now all she has left is a "family" of bullies who degrade her all damn day and night. (Grrrrrrr.) Their actions and words combined with her own guilt push Willow into depression and self loathing. It's not until years later when she hits rock bottom that she makes the decision to change. Though she is well on her way to having a better attitude towards herself, she just doesn't believe it when movie star Kane Masters shows an interest in her. This must be some passing fling or joke, because what would a guy like him see in a girl like her? Everything.

If you've read any of Harper's Corps Security or Hope Town books, you should know that this book really isn't anything like those. And that is NOT a bad thing, at all. You will still get hella hot sexy times and a swoon-worthy Hero, but there is a much deeper emotional level to this story that I think almost everyone will be able to connect with.

This book hit close to home for me as I am sure it will for many other women. No matter our size, shape, color, etc., so many of us struggle with self image issues. For myself personally, I have been struggling with weight and body image since I was in eighth grade. Heck, maybe even earlier than that when I was in fourth grade and a girl in my class asked me why my butt stuck. (Because my ass is awesome, bitch).I hated my body back in middle school, high school and into my twenties. It's not until now in my mid-thirties that i am finally comfortable in my own skin. Mostly.

Book Review: Sinful Longing (Sinful Nights #3) by Lauren Blakely

Colin Sloane might not have the best past, but he's gotten is act together and turned his life around. He's no longer the lost boy he once was but now a successful business man and loving brother. Now he just needs to get the girl and he has his sights set on Elle Mariano. Unfortunately for him, he is just the type of man Elle is determined not to fall for again.  She can't let her their friends-with-benefits arrangement turn into anything more. Can Colin get her to trust him and not let his past dictate their future?

What is it about a man in a suit with lots of delicious tattoos hidden underneath that is so damn hot? I have been intrigues by Colin ever since we got that first glimpse of him in the first book of this series, and I was very much looking forward to getting to know him better. All of him. Sigh. Sure he's got some demons in his past, not to mention a batshit crazy mom, but those things have made him stronger. He's sexy and loyal and sexy and smart... and did I  mention sexy? Cause damn.

Elle has her own history and refuses to let it repeat itself. She is determined to protect herself and those she cares about from any more of her mistakes and keeps Colin at arms length for as long as she cans. I without a doubt understand why she had her hesitations but I also thought she was insane for not grabbing hold of everything that man was offering.

Book Review: Unlawful Justice by K.C. Lynn & K. Langston #Giveaway

The town of Harmony Falls, Texas has recently been riddled with crime. The once peaceful town is now in full blown chaos as things have escalated into deaths and disgusting acts of vengeance. Hate fill the streets and homes of this small town, wreaking havoc with no end in sight. Despite it all, is it possible for two souls at the center of it to find love? Just maybe peace, love and truth will prevail...

So this is one of those books that I needed to take a day (or five) off after reading it before I could sit down and attempt to write a review. Even now, almost a week later, I'm not sure my thoughts will be very coherent or even come close to doing this novel justice, but I'll try.

These two authors have come together to write a truly powerful story that not only engages your heart but your mind as well. (And, ahem, other body parts). It makes you think about the world around us, the hate that sadly still consumes the world, and what the heck are we going to do about it? As much as I wish it wasn't so, racism and corruption are very much a part of our society. Hate is an ugly, multifaceted stone with so many sides at war with each other. It's not just black vs. white here in Harmony Falls, but also good cops vs. bad cops; right vs. wrong and so on... and I was truly impressed how these authors managed to equally and honestly show all sides.
