Book Review: Thursday Nights (Charistown #1) by Lisa N. Paul

Every now and then a freebie on Amazon can be a real gem and help you discover a great author. This is how I found C.D. Reiss and her Songs of Submission series. Back in August, Thursday Nights popped up as free and I quickly snatched it up. I finally got around to reading it this past weekend and I was not disappointed.

Janie and Lyla both have troubled family pasts, but they have found a new family in Charistown, PA. The crew at Danny's on Main bar are the loving family that both girls never had. Every Thursday night the two girls head to the bar to hand out with their new friends. Max has enjoyed getting to know Janie over the past 6 months while bartending at Danny's. But no matter how much he wants her, he doesn't do relationships anymore. His former witch of a wife took care of that for him.

Will an incredible night of "sex with friends" ruin Janie's and Max's friendship? Or can Janie break down the walls that Max has built around his heart? This book is fun and sexy and I loved all of the supporting characters not just Janie and Max. There is a crazy amount of angst as we watch Max struggle with his feelings. Why does the guy always hurt the girl before he realizes what he had? Men are so frustrating. I enjoyed their journey and I am looking forward to more books in this series. The title of book 2 is Storm Front, though there are no other details available yet. I'm really hoping this will be Lyla's and Sebastian's story.
