Book Review: More Than Forever (More #4) by Jay McLean

Let me start by saying that I love this series. L.O.V.E. Now I have to admit that when I first saw that book 4 was going to be Cam and Lucy's story, I was a bit perplexed. I didn't think they needed their own book since they were always together through the events of the first 3 books. Boy, I could have not been more wrong. This story was amazing. Do NOT read this before the others. All books in the More series must be read in order.

So Cam and Lucy. Lucy and Cam. We first met them at Senior Prom back in More Than This. Lucy the loyal and quiet bookworm and Cam the charming and sweet hottie. Throughout the years that follow in college, they are always their in the background. Always together and always in love. I had absolutely no idea what was going on for these two behind the scenes.

More Than Forever starts with 15 year old Cam and Lucy. Lucy has just lost her mom and her family is floundering. With 6 younger  brothers to care for and a father that has mentally checked out, the weight is too much for her young shoulders to bear alone. Though she refuses to ask for help, Cam steps in and gives it anyway. But why? They aren't friends. Heck, they've never even spoken before. It doesn't matter though because Cam needs to help her. Needs to know her. He is there for her when she breaks and he helps to put the pieces back together.

Book Review: More Than Her (More #2) by Jay McLean

Logan. Logan. Logan. Dear sweet, sexy Logan. All of the mistakes you make are enough drive this girl insane. I loved the little bit we got of Logan in More Than This so I could not wait for his story.  Now we finally get to be inside Logan's head a little bit to see what he is thinking. And inside his head is not an easy place to be.

When he met Amanda a year ago, they had an amazing connection and a great sex-free night together. But he screwed it up. Now they are both at the same college and though she manages to avoid him for a while, they are now thrown together on a daily basis. How long can she resist his charm? Not very long and I can't say I blame her. Logan is hot, funny and charming and underneath that smugness is actually a sweet guy.

This book drove me absolutely insane, but I loved every minute of it. I loved their chemistry together and yeah the steamy sex. But it was also painful to see them both not communicating to each other and making so many  mistakes. There is enough angst in here to fill a swimming pool and at times it made me want to pull out my hair or smack the hell out of these two. Logan for continually pushing Amanda away even though he loves her and Amanda for letting him. I generally liked Amanda, but dammit if the girl loved him half as much as she claimed to, then she should have fought harder for him.

Cover Reveal: More Than Her (More #2) by Jay McLean

"For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction."
For every choice you make there are rewards, or there are consequences.
It was my choice to walk away the first time.
And my choice to chase her the second.
But sometimes you don't get a choice, and all you get are the consequences.

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.
Because loving him didn't give me the strength to walk away.
It didn't give me the courage to fight for him.
And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

Book Review: More Than This (More #1) by Jay McLean

I love when a book takes me by surprise and More Than This certainly did that. Makayla Jones is at the end of her senior year of high school and things are going pretty great. She has been with her hunky boyfriend James for four years, she's got her best friend Megan by her side and they are all going to UNC together in the fall. But in just one night, everything she knows shatters.

Jake Andrews is a pretty big deal. Also a senior, he has a full baseball scholarship to UNC and there is no doubt he will go pro one day. When he sees the beautiful broken girl standing in front of him, he can't help but reach out to her and help take away some of the pain. When the night of betrayal also becomes a night of tragedy, he stands by her, holds her and does everything he can to get through the most difficult time in her life. But when a brand new friendship starts to become more, how will they know that what they feel is real and not just because of what they experienced together. After everything Makayla has been through, will she be able to love again? Or will she always be a broken little girl?
