I Hate You by Ilsa Madden-Mills

WSJ bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills returns with an all-new, enemies-to-lovers second chance romance between the football hottie and the feisty nerd girl he can’t forget.

I want you . . . even when I hate you.

Blaze Townsend: I hate you.
Charisma Rossi: I hate you more.

She’s been expecting this ever since their latest showdown. She had good reason.

Hottest guy she’s ever seen.
Former fling.
Dumped her in front of all her friends.
At her own party.

So no, she’s not about to forgive and forget just because he sits next to her in class. He thinks all he has to do is turn on those baby blues, and she’ll melt right back into his arms. Please. She’d be crazy to let this cocky player affect her again. (Tell that to her body.)

Charisma Rossi.
Brainy girl with a dash of bad.
The one who got under his skin.
The one he cut loose.

Blaze knows she’s the riskiest prospect at Waylon University, but none of the interchangeable girls he hooks up with have ever made him feel the way she did. There’s absolutely no way he can have the girl and the game.

So why can’t he stop trying to win her back?

Can this wide receiver score the girl or will he make the biggest fumble of his life?

*Steamy and flirty with all the emotional feels, I Hate You is a new adult standalone romance.

Filthy English (English #2) by Ilsa Madden-Mills #Giveaway

Filthy English has all the makings of the type of romance book that I love:
  • Hot British tattooed bad boy? Check.
  • Second chance romance? Check.
  • Authored by Ilsa Madden-Mills, whom I would enjoy reading notes scribbled on toilet paper if they were written by her? Check.

(Did that sound creepy and stalkerish? I swear I'm not a stalker. Much.)

Bad boy Dax has a filthy tongue and he's not afraid to use it. He and Remi shared a memorable few days together years ago, but it went to shit rather quickly and they have avoided each other ever since. Now they stand next to each other in a bar in England, only they don't know it. That is until their mouths find each other again and recognition instantly sparks. As well as sexual chemistry. Can they have a each other again without dredging up past hurt and emotion?

So yeah, Dax is hot. I always love a sexy hero with ink, but throw in the British accent and it tips me over the edge, in the best way possible. I did enjoy him and his filthy mouth very much. Ilsa always has a way of making you just feel right along with her characters and boy did I feel with Dax. Not just the sex, and oh yeah I felt that, but everything else. Despite outwards appearances, Dax hides some major insecurities and it pained me to feel how vulnerable he was underneath.  I needed to see him realize how special and deserving he was.

Book Review: Dirty English by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Events in Elizabeth's past have left her broken and distrusting. It's why she doesn't do relationships at all, just the occasional one night stand. She's content to keep it that way until the boy with the sexy British accent changes everything.

Declan isn't too trusting himself, but there is something about Elizabeth that immediately draws him in. Campus' sexiest bad boy also has a romantic side and he wants to be the one to heal her, to keep her safe... to love her. But there is only so much rejection he can take from her before he gives up and walks away.

Oh Ilsa. There is just something about her writing that mesmerizes me. From the first word, I feel like I am physically pulled into the story and nothing will tear me away from reading it. Nothing. When I reviewed her  first book, Very Bad Things, two years ago (holy crap!), I used words like consumed, captivated and exquisite to describe the story and writing. And those same words could be used to describe every book this woman has written, including Dirty English. She's just amazing and hands down a must read author for me.

Release Blitz: Bad Wicked Twisted by Ilsa Madden-Mills #Giveaway

FOUR red-hot stories about the bad, wicked and twisted characters of Briarcrest Academy, featuring a dirty-talking gym owner, a football player, a sexy rock star, and a British bad boy.

Excerpt
Nora

“I’d like to sleep for a hundred years, wake up and try again.” – Nora Blakely

“Drop the paint and turn around slowly with your hands in the air.” The loud command was said with a deep voice. “I’ve got a gun, asshole, so move nice and slow.”
I bent over and placed the can on the pavement. I started to turn when— “I said put your hands in the air!” he yelled.
I yanked my hands up and eased around to face the owner of the voice.

Book Review: Very Twisted Things (Briarcrest Academy #3) by Ilsa Madden-Mills

I don't know about everyone else but I have been waiting for Sebastian's story from the moment he was introduced to us in Very Bad Things. I loved his cockiness and humor and was looking forward to finally getting his story. One thing I know I am always going to get with Ilsa's stories is emotion. Pure, raw emotion and yeah this book sure delivered that. From the heart wrenching prologue to Sebastian and Violet dancing around their feelings, my heart was 100% involved.

For as much as I love Sebastian, I also wanted to punch him for his stupid boy mistakes. At times I expected better of him but I held onto hope that he would eventually figure it out. Violet was absolutely awesome in all her junk food eating, potty mouthed glory. She is damaged for sure, but stronger then even she realizes. I understood why she hid away in her mansion, hell I would have done the same thing. But what was beautiful to me was watching her ever so slowly come out of her shell. She may still have a long way to go, but the start of it was huge.

As is customary when reading this author, I cried (a lot) and laughed and I was completely swept away by the characters and the emotions seeping out of them. It is like they flow directly from the pages into my skin and I don't want to let them go when it is done. This series continues to be a must-read for me and I hope we have more from this author soon.

Book Blast: Very Wicked Things (Briarcrest Academy #2) by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Excerpt

I got out of the shower and dressed hurriedly, anxious to get back to Cuba.

The door opened, and like he did it every single day, he stepped inside the steamy bathroom.

“Think I need a shower, too,” he said, his fingers easing off his football practice shirt.

What? Now?

Trying to play it cool and failing miserably, I moved my eyes off his naked chest and checked out his track pants and the obvious bulge he sported.

Oh. Did his lower body match the rest of him? Was it all sinewy muscle and big?

Book Review: Very Wicked Things (Briarcrest Academy #2) by Ilsa Madden-Mills

When I read the first book in this series, Very Wicked Things, last year it absolutely floored me. Nora and Leo's story was emotional and all consuming. In that review, I used the word exquisite to describe author Ilsa Madden-Mills' writing and that once again applies here in book two.

Cuba Hudson is the most popular, best looking and most athletic boy at Briarcrest Academy. Girls throw themselves at his feet even knowing he doesn't do the girlfriend thing. One would think he is the happiest guy at school. But as we have come to know about the kids at Briarcrest, looks are usually deceiving.

Dovey Beckham is not part of Cuba's rich, entitled world. A scholarship student, once her classes and dance practices are over, she heads back home to the unsavory side of town. They don't make any sense together, except for a brief point in time when they did. But that is all in the past and there is no future for them. Is there? Cuba and Dovey haven't spoken in a year, since he took her virginity and then shattered her heart in front of the entire school. He's done everything in his power to ignore her and she's done everything she can to make him see her. Until the day when it all changes. Again.

Book Review: Very Wicked Beginnings (Briarcrest Academy #1.5) by Ilsa Madden-Mills

This is the prequel novella to Very Wicked Things, and it should without a doubt be read first.  This novella goes into how Cuba and Dovey first met, and how he subsequently pursued her. Relentlessly. I loved it because this is where you really see the sweet, loving side of Cuba. And I honestly think it helped me get through some of the crap Cuba pulled in the next book, knowing that there was this part of him he was hiding away. Knowing that the guilt was weighing down the wonderful young man he really is. So yeah, read it and then dive into Very Wicked Things.

Favorite Quote

"We have a connection. I knew it the moment I sat down with you. You want to resist me, that's fine. I like it. It's like foreplay."

Book Review: Very Bad Things (Briarcrest Academy #1) by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Holy. Frickin Crap. As I finished this book in the early morning hours, it took me a while to find a word adequate enough to describe how I felt. Consumed. This book completely consumed me. Let me tell you how thoroughly captivated Very Bad Things had me. At 10:00pm the other night I was about 70% through, but I decided to call it an early night for a change. Honestly, it was only so my husband wouldn't complain that I was up all night reading again. For the next hour, I tossed and turned in bed unable to get my mind off of this book. So I headed back downstairs to read "just one more chapter." Snort, yeah right. I had to finish it. There was no way I was stopping until I was done. No book has ever gotten me back out of bed again before this.
